Title: Segmented insulation element
The invention relates to a segmented insulating and equalizing element, which is particularly suitable for the thermal insulation of flat and sloping roofs, and on which the top layer over the full length can in particular be applied with a self-adhesive strip or another roof covering.
To protect homes, offices, public buildings, workshops, etc., which are heated during use from heat loss from transmission, web insulation material consisting of segment insulation material with a relatively small area can be used, which are joined on one side by means of a glued laminate layer consisting of a roof strip. After installing such insulation strips, the roof strip simultaneously forms a first sealing layer, the joints and seams of which must be attached to each other with the help of an open flame, hot air or special glue.
Because the aforementioned roof strips that are used as a laminate layer are relatively rigid and the top of the segments of insulating material is attached to them, the bottom of these segments does not adapt well to the bearing surface of the flat, sloping or sloping roof, so that the desired thermal insulation is not always achieved. realised.
Furthermore, the above-mentioned application of the connection of the joints and seams of the roof strips using an open flame, hot air or special glue, is relatively labor-intensive.
It is therefore an object of the invention in particular to provide a segmented insulating and equalizing element which is particularly suitable for the thermal insulation of flat and sloping roofs, the bottom of which adapts better to the support surface and therefore for very good thermal insulation. and which can be applied to the top side sealing strips, for which it is not necessary to join the joints and seams with the aid of an open flame, hot air or separately special glue.
This object is achieved according to the invention in the form of a segmented insulating and equalizing element comprising a number of successive insulating segments of heat-insulating material, which are flexibly connected by means of single-sided connecting and equalizing strips, whereby the total width of the connecting and equalizing strips is considerable. is smaller than the width of the insulating elements to which they are fitted with a certain interspace.
Such a segmented insulating and equalizing element according to the invention has in particular the following advantages: a) the underside is perfectly adaptable to the shape of the supporting surface, because the individual insulating segments thanks to the flexible interconnection in the form of the connecting and equalizing strips relative to each other have a relatively large freedom of movement perpendicular to the bearing surface; and (b) the sealing roof strip to be applied to the top of the segmented insulating and equalizing element may be applied in the form of a self-adhesive strip provided with an adhesive, high-adhesion adhesive layer, thereby ensuring a permanent fixation to the substrate, whereby the overlapping joints and seams and the connections on the construction parts are sealed in a force-tight manner by pressing the strip, for example with the help of a pressure roller, and whereby the natural heat and solar radiation provides extra firm adhesion of the bonding surface.
A preferred embodiment of the segmented insulating and equalizing element according to the invention is characterized in that the connecting strips consist of a stretchable and / or stretchable material. In addition to the assembly function just mentioned, the connecting, equalizing or adhesive strips that connect the insulation segments together also have a production and a transport function, it is also possible to roll up, fold or bundle the segmented insulation elements with ease.
The bonding, equalizing or adhesive strips not only have a production, transport and mounting function, but they fulfill an extremely important task in the roof construction as an equalization layer for the vapor pressure, and thus form an important functional layer in the roof construction. In view of the fulfillment of this task, in a preferred embodiment of the segmented insulating and equalizing element according to the invention, the connecting, equalizing and adhesive strips of a material with large open pores and / or a fabric-like and / or a non-woven material.
Preferred materials for these joining, balancing or adhesive strips are glass fiber fleece, such as in particular raw glass fleece, glass fabric, glass fiber cloth, polyester fleece or polyester glass fiber cloth or a combination material consisting of two or more of the aforementioned materials.
The insulation segments themselves consist of heat insulating materials, optionally provided with a stepped seam, as is customary with roof insulation material, e.g. made of polystyrene, polyurethane, phenolic resin, rock wool or cork or a composite material of two or more of the aforementioned materials.
The above-described and the other advantages and features of the invention will be described and explained in more detail below with reference to a preferred embodiment of a segmented insulating and equalizing element, with reference to the only figure in which a part of a segmented insulating element according to the invention is perspective displayed.
The segmented insulating and equalizing element is denoted as a whole by reference numeral 1 and comprises a number of successive insulating segments 2, optionally provided with a stepped flange edge, in this case having a parallelepiped shape and with their longitudinal edges abutting or> through a small gap of for example, 1 to 3 mm thickness are separated from each other.
These insulating segments 2 consisting of heat-insulating material are flexibly attached to each other by means of single-sided, at the top, connecting, equalizing or adhesive strips 3 which run parallel to each other and in the width direction B of the insulating segments 2 from one end of the the insulating and equalizing element 1 extend to its other end, which is not shown in the drawing, and preferably such that it is distributed in a longitudinal direction L of the insulating segments 2 and 4 respectively. the transverse direction of the insulation and equalizing elements 1.
The number of connecting, equalizing or adhesive strips 3 is not critical, in the selection thereof particular attention is given to good interconnection of the insulating segments 2, good handling of the segmented insulating and equalizing elements, and in particular whether they can be easily rolled or folded. The total width as sum of all the individual widths b of the connecting strips arranged on the insulating and equalizing element on one side is preferably 15 to 50%, and most preferably 30 to 40%, of the width of the insulating and equalizing elements, respectively. the length L of the insulating segments, the width b of the individual connecting strips being considerably smaller than the width of the insulating segments. Preferably, the width of the insulating and equalizing elements resp. the length L of the insulation segments 0.6 to 1.5 m, and most preferably 1.0 to 1.2 m, and the width b of the individual connection strips 3 is preferably 5 to 20 cm, and most preferably 8 to 10 cm.
The thickness of the individual connecting strips 3 is preferably 0.3 to 2.5 mm, and most preferably 0.5 to 1.5 mm.
The geometric shape of the plan view of the insulating segments 2 is, as shown obliquely in the drawing, preferably rectangular or - which is less preferred - square, with the upper surfaces of the insulating segments 2 on which the connecting, equalizing or adhesive strips 3, are preferably flat, while the lower bearing surfaces, which face the viewer in the drawing and are therefore invisible, can also be formed as profiled bearing surfaces instead of flat, so that a form-fitting bearing surface can be obtained on a corrugated iron roof or a trapezoidal shape profiled roof surface. The side surfaces of the insulating and equalizing element may also have a stepped seam.
As for the other preferred dimensions of the insulating and equalizing element 1 and the insulating segments 2, the length of a composite insulating and equalizing element 1 is preferably 2.5 to 5 meters, the width B of the insulating segments 2 juxtaposed in width direction is preferably between 50 and 500 mm, and most preferably between 200 and 250 mm, while the thickness D of the insulation segments 2 is preferably between 30 and 250 mm.
In addition, reference numeral 4 in the drawing indicates the structure of the heat insulating material of the insulating segments 2.
It has previously been mentioned that such an insulating and equalizing element 1, which is relatively light and easy to handle because no stiffening and weighting laminate roof strip is used, is rolled up or folded for the storage. After rolling out such an element on an adhesive layer of polyurethane, bitumen or another material, or after attaching it mechanically. the rolled-out insulating and equalizing elements on the roof, for example with the help of spring plugs, a sealing strip, preferably in the form of an adhesive strip, is laid over the entire surface on top, for which, when using a self-adhesive strip, there is no open flame or a separate, special adhesive is required to join the joints and seams, but it is sufficient to press them, e.g. using a pressure roller, and in special cases where a mineral surface protection is used instead of overlaps it is sufficient to use a hot air blower use to ensure a good connection.
